Aanchal Women's Aid is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our work and to ensuring that our organisation operates with integrity, transparency and respect for human rights.
As a specialist charity supporting women, children and families affected by domestic abuse, we recognise the close links between domestic abuse, exploitation and modern slavery. We are committed to identifying and responding appropriately to concerns about exploitation, trafficking and forced labour as part of our safeguarding responsibilities.

Employment Practices
Aanchal Women's Aid is committed to fair and lawful employment practices. We:

Recruit staff through transparent and fair recruitment processes.

Verify the identity and right to work of all employees.

Pay staff in accordance with UK employment legislation.

Do not tolerate forced, bonded or compulsory labour.

Encourage staff to raise concerns through our Whistleblowing Policy without fear of retaliation.
Procurement and Supply Chain
Although our procurement activities are relatively limited, we expect suppliers, contractors and partners to share our commitment to ethical business practices.
Where appropriate, we seek assurance that organisations we work with:

comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015;

maintain safe working conditions; and

do not knowingly engage in forced labour, child labour or human trafficking.
Training and Awareness
We promote awareness of modern slavery through safeguarding training and encourage staff and volunteers to recognise the signs of exploitation and understand their responsibilities for reporting concerns.
Reporting Concerns
Any concerns relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or labour exploitation will be taken seriously and managed in accordance with our Safeguarding, Whistleblowing and Confidentiality Policies. Where appropriate, concerns will be reported to the relevant statutory authorities.
Review
This statement is reviewed annually by the Board of Trustees as part of Aanchal Women's Aid's governance arrangements.
